La Gloria Cubana Series “N”

Hello everyone, its been awhile but life has been very busy for me. Hopefully it will return to normal after May but we will have to see. Ok, enough about me, lets get to what you came for and that’s a cigar review.

Today, I am reviewing the newest cigar from La Gloria Cubana line which is the “Series N.” I’ve heard good things about this cigar so I was pretty interested in giving it a review. I love their “Series R” line and hope to add this one to my list as well. So without further delay,  I’m ready to give you my verdict on whether it will pass the mighty “Stew” test or not.

WRAPPER: Ecuadorian Sumatra

BINDER & FILLER: Nicaraguan / Nicaragua

Length/Ring: 6 1/2 x 58

Shape: Glorioso

Strength: Medium to Full

Price: I paid $9.55.

My Observations: This cigar is very interesting cigar to look at and will draw your attention to it immediately. Once you see it, trust me you will want to try it just on its appearance alone. I say this because of its rich dark chocolate leaf wrapper that is surrounded by small non noticeable veins. Now add the light-colored “N” depicted on the stick and you have a true winner in the appearance department.  Over all I have to say that I’m truly impressed thus far.

  • On my finger touch inspection, I found no soft spots or imperfections. Over all “A” in the grading department.

Cigar Label: Pretty much the standard La Gloria label with the “Series N” depicted in black writing.

Snip: Straight cut.

Pre-Draw: Very smooth with a sweet taste.

Flavors: The 1st third of this cigar consisted of a sweet taste paired up with earth and coffee. The 2nd third continued with these flavors but gave way to leather and wood. The last third finished up with leather, wood and small hints of spice.

Draw: Less than perfect.

Burn line: Jagged.

Liked it: I would have except I had to keep lighting it in order to continue to smoke it #fail!

Recommend it: No, not unless you bring several full lighters with you!

Hint: Wondering if I bought a bad batch?

Until Next Time

  1. Team La Gloria Cubana had mentioned several times this past Friday that the cigars should be stored and smoked at 65% humidity.

It has to do with the thicker Oscuro wrapper and its tendency to hold on to moisture.
